Devo Father Part 3
Malachi 2:1-2 (NIV)
2 “And now, you priests, this warning is for you. 2 If you do not listen, and if you do not resolve to honor my name,” says the Lord Almighty, “I will send a curse on you, and I will curse your blessings. Yes, I have already cursed them, because you have not resolved to honor me.
Many see God as Santa Claus. He just gives out gifts no matter how we act. He never disciplines us or admonishes us. It all sugar and spice and everything nice. Well God disciplines the son He loves. (Hebrews 6:12) He blesses us with what is best for us and curses us with what is best for us. God loves us and will curse our blessings to drive us back to our senses, back to Him. He is not going to let us pass down to the next generation our foolishness. Honor Him and be honored by Him in the presence of your children and others.

Devo Father Part 2
Malachi 1:10-14 (NIV)
10 “Oh, that one of you would shut the temple doors, so that you would not light useless fires on my altar! I am not pleased with you,” says the Lord Almighty, “and I will accept no offering from your hands. 11 My name will be great among the nations, from where the sun rises to where it sets. In every place incense and pure offerings will be brought to me, because my name will be great among the nations,” says the Lord Almighty.
12 “But you profane it by saying, ‘The Lord’s table is defiled,’ and, ‘Its food is contemptible.’ 13 And you say, ‘What a burden!’ and you sniff at it contemptuously,” says the Lord Almighty.
“When you bring injured, lame or diseased animals and offer them as sacrifices, should I accept them from your hands?” says the Lord. 14 “Cursed is the cheat who has an acceptable male in his flock and vows to give it, but then sacrifices a blemished animal to the Lord. For I am a great king,” says the Lord Almighty, “and my name is to be feared among the nations.
Wow! God shuts the door to His house. It is useless to bring God your left overs. He accepts the best only. Could you imagine getting to heaven and the doors being shut, or praying and your prayers bouncing off the doors of heaven, but that is what He is saying. God is great and greatly to be praised from generation to generation. Our children catch what we do. God is a great king and should be honored. How you treat your parents is how you are treating God.

Devo Father Part 1
Malachi 1:6-9 (NIV)
6 “A son honors his father, and a slave his master. If I am a father, where is the honor due me? If I am a master, where is the respect due me?” says the Lord Almighty.
“It is you priests who show contempt for my name.
“But you ask, ‘How have we shown contempt for your name?’
7 “By offering defiled food on my altar.
“But you ask, ‘How have we defiled you?’
“By saying that the Lord’s table is contemptible. 8 When you offer blind animals for sacrifice, is that not wrong? When you sacrifice lame or diseased animals, is that not wrong? Try offering them to your governor! Would he be pleased with you? Would he accept you?” says the Lord Almighty.
9 “Now plead with God to be gracious to us. With such offerings from your hands, will he accept you?”—says the Lord Almighty.
I end my program “You and Me” each night with ‘don’t forget to call your father and mother’. I have been asked why, but have said little till now. Why? Because the way one sees their father is how they see God. How they treat their father is how they treat God. God was upset with the Jews because they were not showing Him the honor He should have. The food on the altar was the left overs of the flock. He was to have the first fruits or best of the flock. When we show our children that we don’t give our parents the respect and honor due them they won’t give God the respect and honor due Him. God is not impressed with left overs. He wants our best and He will give us His best. God’s table is to be honored. We bring the best to the table to eat with Him. He brought His best to the table. Communion is proof of that. We don’t bring it when it is convenient, but at the prescribed time. We should consider it an honor to drop everything and be with the Father. God was upset with His children and would not accept their offerings. Why? Because it taught the children to do the same and put them under a curse. We reap what we sow.

Devo Who are called by My name
2 Thessalonians 2:6-12 (AMPC)
6 And now you know what is restraining him [from being revealed at this time]; it is so that he may be manifested (revealed) in his own [appointed] time. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness (that hidden principle of rebellion against constituted authority) is already at work in the world, [but it is] restrained only until [a]he who restrains is taken out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one (the antichrist) will be revealed and the Lord Jesus will slay him with the breath of His mouth and bring him to an end by His appearing at His coming. 9 The coming [of the lawless one, the antichrist] is through the activity and working of Satan and will be attended by great power and with all sorts of [pretended] miracles and signs and delusive marvels—[all of them] lying wonders— 10 And by unlimited seduction to evil and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing (going to perdition) because they did not welcome the Truth but refused to love it that they might be saved. 11 Therefore God sends upon them a misleading influence, a working of error and a strong delusion to make them believe what is false, 12 In order that all may be judged and condemned who did not believe in [who refused to adhere to, trust in, and rely on] the Truth, but [instead] took pleasure in unrighteousness.
Matthew 12:29 (NIV)
29 “Or again, how can anyone enter a strong man’s house and carry off his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man? Then he can plunder his house.
I have always believed this scripture to be talking about the church being raptured, and still do. It is now that I see Satan is has tied up the strong man (the church) and is wreaking havoc on the world. The church has all but been taken out of the way. They are a sleep and letting Satan in. Trump may build his wall but the evil has gotten in. God looks for a man to build up the breach in the wall, but can find none. Well I say Lord choose me. Anyone care to join me? The pay in this life stinks, they will hate and mock you, spit on you, try to kill you and so forth, but you will help to save some. Church wake up! The problem isn’t Satan, Isis, Democrats, Republicans, government, and so on it is the church. Get up and pray. The word says: “14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” It don’t say the people of the world it say if my people who are called by my name..” Pastor Jeff Lane
Devo In the Garden
Psalm 91 (KJV)
91 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. 3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. 4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. 5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; 6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. 7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. 8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. 9 Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; 10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. 11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. 12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. 13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. 14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. 15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. 16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
One of my all-time favorite hymns is In the Garden. The first verse says it for me. I come to the Garden alone. We must come to Jesus alone. People can lead you there, but then you’re on your own. Every knee shall bow to Him, but you’re alone. Come in humility and find Him. Come in arrogance and never know Him. His presence is comfort or torment. It reminds you that you are forgiven or a sinner. It is the person who dwells in His presence that find rest, peace, and safety. Pastor Jeff Lane
