Devo Why am I not overcoming part 2
2 Kings 3:1-8 King James Version (KJV) 3 Now Jehoram the son of Ahab began to reign over Israel in Samaria the eighteenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and reigned twelve years. 2 And he wrought evil in the sight of the Lord; but not like his father, and like his mother: for he put away the image of Baal that his father had made. 3 Nevertheless he cleaved unto the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which made Israel to sin; he departed not therefrom. 4 And Mesha king of Moab was a sheepmaster, and rendered unto the king of Israel an hundred thousand lambs, and an hundred thousand rams, with the wool. 5 But it came to pass, when Ahab was dead, that the king of Moab rebelled against the king of Israel. 6 And king Jehoram went out of Samaria the same time, and numbered all Israel. 7 And he went and sent to Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, saying, The king of Moab hath rebelled against me: wilt thou go with me against Moab to battle? And he said, I will go up: I am as thou art, my people as thy people, and my horses as thy horses. 8 And he said, Which way shall we go up? And he answered, The way through the wilderness of Edom. Jehoram was the son of Ahab and Jezebel this evil could who God destroyed. He began some reforms but continued to worship other Gods. Nevertheless he would listen somewhat to the word of the Lord. Jehoshaphat was the good king of Judah. He had good intentions, and wanted there to be peace between Israel and Judah. Though his intentions were good he became unequally yoked with two evil Kings. When we are going into battle we need to know all that are with us are with God. (To be continued) Pastor Jeff Lane

Devo Why am I not overcoming part 1 Hosea 4:6 King James Version (KJV) 6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. I am writing this series because of things we have gone through in life. Frustration with not overcoming in or with matters we have dealt with before. I am not talking about results. Often time we would get results only to find we were back fighting a new battle with something we thought was over. God called us to rule and overcome the powers of darkness. It is a command not a suggestion but let’s face it we aren’t where we should be, but why? It seems to me it’s a lack of knowledge and understanding, which takes me to our first lesson. I have to admit this is the greatest revelation I have had in this area. It starts with a verse that has haunted me for years to be honest, 49 years. I was eight years old when I read this verse and it perplexed me. Does Satan really have that much power? Was God not able to overcome Satan? Why were the people of God stopped because of an occult sacrifice? I wanted to know why. I wanted answers and I have been seeking it for years. Then one-night God awakened me and spoke a word to me. I hope you take this to heart. It has been a long, hard road. Don’t just set this aside and deceive yourselves. It seems easier to sleep than to fight. You can no longer kick the can down the road. You can no longer ignore the coming final battle. ( Continued) Pastor Jeff Lane Devo Messages of hope and a future Part 5
Revelation 21:1-7 King James Version (KJV) 21 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. 5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. 6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. 7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. The word is the deposit or earnest on receiving this. Enough said. Praise God almighty! Pastor Jeff Lane Devo Messages of hope and a future Part 4
2 Timothy 1:14 New International Version (NIV) 14 Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you—guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us. Hide the word in your heart and let nothing steal it. It is a deposit that brings forth the promise of better things to come. When Peter got his eyes on the storm and off the word of Jesus he sank like a rock. We must stand firm in our faith or not stand at all. Even so remembered when Peter cried out to the Lord he saved Him in his lack of faith. Pastor Jeff Lane Devo Messages of hope and a future Part 3 2 Corinthians 5:1-5 New International Version (NIV) 5 For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. 2 Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, 3 because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked. 4 For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. 5 Now the one who has fashioned us for this very purpose is God, who has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. The Holy Spirit gives us that peace that passes all understanding as we know that God is able, and willing and does bless us beyond anything that we could ask or think. We may groan and feel burdened by this life we have, but then He gives us a glimpse into glory of what is to come by fulfilling a promise on this side. We are all going to die, but He heals us, so we know He has not forsaken us. It is a deposit of better things to come. Pastor Jeff Lane Devo Messages of hope and a future Part 2
Jeremiah 29:11-13 New International Version (NIV) 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I think most all of us have those times when we feel the future is bleak at best. We feel we will never get out of debt, always be sick, never marry, when will God use us, and so many other things we may stop hoping for. Can you image Abraham and Sarah waiting for a baby at 99 and 89? Babies are the future. Get pregnant with God’s word. Mary did and look at how the future of that is still bringing hope. She didn’t doubt God’s word but believed in her heart and the future became reality. Promises made became substance in her life. God has a future for you if you will seek Him and then you’ll find Him. He comes not to condemn but to save. Call on Jesus for whatever you need Him for and don’t let go till you get it. Pastor Jeff Lane Devo Messages of hope and a future Part 1 Psalm 91 New International Version (NIV) 1 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” 3 Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. 4 He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. 5 You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, 6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. 7 A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. 8 You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. 9 If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, 10 no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. 11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; 12 they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. 13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. 14 “Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. 15 He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. 16 With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.” I feel very strongly that I need to take a break from my messages on the visions of the United States. Too much can be depressing, and I want you to see our future is glorious as Christians. Winston Churchill once said; “We have nothing to fear but fear itself.” So true and well put. Luke 21:8-19 New International Version (NIV) 8 He replied: “Watch out that you are not deceived. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am he,’ and, ‘The time is near.’ Do not follow them. 9 When you hear of wars and uprisings, do not be frightened. These things must happen first, but the end will not come right away.” 10 Then he said to them: “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. 11 There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven. 12 “But before all this, they will seize you and persecute you. They will hand you over to synagogues and put you in prison, and you will be brought before kings and governors, and all on account of my name. 13 And so you will bear testimony to me. 14 But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves. 15 For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict. 16 You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers and sisters, relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death. 17 Everyone will hate you because of me. 18 But not a hair of your head will perish. 19 Stand firm, and you will win life. Isaiah 7:9 New International Version (NIV) 9 …, If you do not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all.’” It is translated nation will rise against nation, but it says in Greek ethnic group will rise ethnic group. This is already happening in our nation. The lies being put forth to are meant to divide us. It is a sign of what is to come. We see wars and we have had more wars than any nation on earth. Earthquakes, and soon to be famines in this our country. Persecution will soon break out against Christians and we will be blamed for the problems in our nation like Jews in Germany during WW2. They will put us in prison because we bear the name of Jesus. We will be betrayed by our own blood relatives them thinking they will save their own skin and wanting nothing to do with us. I see this already beginning. Now listen, only if you stand firm in your faith will you overcome. God will defend us and like Stephen. They will not be able to stand up against us. Unlike Stephen not a hair on our head will be perish. Listen, if you falter and try to save your life you will lose it. We will prosper, and they will hate us for it. This will happen before the Rapture. It will be difficult to stand your ground, but you must. It reminds me of Pastor Andrew in Turkey. They will have to let us go. There will be a distinction between the true man and woman of God and the rest of the world. Church organizations will think they are doing God a favor for betraying us. We will have to depend on the Holy Spirit to know who are our true brothers. Pastor Jeff Lane |
