Devo Authority for the child of God part 11
Acts 19:13-16 (KJV)
13 Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.
14 And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so.
15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?
16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.
You cannot simply take authority upon yourself, it must be bestowed from above. Anything else is rebellion and witchcraft. Demons will know if you have authority and you will too or you will find out soon. Many go where angels fear to tread. Don’t be quick to lay hands on people. Know you’re in God’s will. Often when praying for others I will pray in tongues, because I will see in the Spirit that they are not ready for the truth. Be sensitive to the Spirit. This takes time to learn. You must have a relationship with Him. Walk with Him and talk with Him to know Him.
I have had demon possessed people cry out when they come into contact with me. People ask would why didn’t you cast them out. I was not invited to, besides it would have opened them up to be seven time worst off. They have to want it.
A life of walking in authority is not an easy life. There is a target on your back and Satan wants to bring you down. He wants no one on this earth to be the voice of God. The power is in the spoken word from God. It is released through the believer. Count the cost and walk slowly at first. Find your way. Don’t be scared of the enemy but respect the power satan and his demons have or you may find them on you as the seven sons of Sceva.
