Devo God’s plan or ours Part 1
Matthew 16:15-23 (NIV) 15 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” 17 Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. 18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” 20 Then he ordered his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Messiah. 21 From that time on Jesus began to explain to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life. 22 Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. “Never, Lord!” he said. “This shall never happen to you!” 23 Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.” Wow! One moment Jesus is praising Peter for this revelation from God and the next He is calling him Satan. Could it be we do the same? I wish not, but we do. In the Spirit and then in the flesh. We think we have in mind the things of God, but do we? God’s ways are not our ways. There is a wisdom that seems right to man. Pastor Jeff Lane

![]() Devo Do you know God’s plans for you? Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 1) Corinthians 2:9-10 (NIV 9 However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived” a— the things God has prepared for those who love him— 10 these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. God has a plan for each one of us, but that does not mean you will fulfill that plan. God does not force His will on us. We must seek it out, search for it, and want it. It is an inexpressible plan. He will and can do so much for us, but most people miss out on God’s plans and when their plans go bad they blame Him. Walking in God’s plan starts with loving Him, and if you love Him you will obey Him. That is where so many get hung up. They say they love Him, but not enough to obey Him. That starts with humility. You must bow to Him. Pastor Jeff Lane |
