Devo Why prayer clothes?
Acts 19:11-12 (NIV)
11 God did extraordinary miracles through Paul, 12 so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick, and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them.
Mark 16:15-20 (NIV)
15 He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.” 19 After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God. 20 Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.
Matthew 10:1 (NIV) 10 Jesus called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out impure spirits and to heal every disease and sickness.
Prayer clothes were used in the church because it is a point of contact with the one God uses in healing. He gave the great commission to the church. A commission is a command not a suggestion. We are commanded to heal the sick. They laid hands on them and they recovered, but because of logistics it was not always possible to lay hands on the sick person. We can’t be everywhere at once so they used cloths as a point of contact. Prayer clothes are use to transfer the anointing from God’s servant to heal every disease and sickness, drive out demons, restore finances, impart the Holy Spirit.
