Devo Who is in charge of this world
1 John 5:19 (NIV)
19 We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one.
2 Corinthians 4:4 (NIV)
4 The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. Ephesians 6:12 (NIV)
12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Hebrews 2:14 (NIV)
14 Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil--
Scripture does not teach that God is in control of this world at this time. Not that He couldn’t be. For us to understand Spiritual warfare we must understand who is in charge of this world. The last thing to be put under Jesus’ feet is death and it has not been as the word teaches. I would hate to think God is in charge of this mess. I am not at all saying that we don’t have authority in our lives over Satan, but if we were fully in charge at this time we could banish Him from this world and I dare say we would have. No, the day is coming when with Christ’s return we will, but in the meantime our struggle continues with Satan, and Jesus understands our struggle, and has given us tools to overcome in our lives. Satan’s time is short and He is fighting harder than ever, but we win. How do we overcome this world? By faith, but what is faith? Stay tuned.
