Devo Walking in faith Part 21
Romans 8:29-30 (NIV)
29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. 30 And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.
The book of Romans was not written to the world, but the church. Written to those who are saved already. Some have tried to use these verses to support their predestination theories. Which has lead to much false doctrine and a license to sin. What I want to look at is that once we are saved we are put on a path to become like Jesus, not that we will all be clones and lose our identity. We are to conform to God’s plan, will, obedience, and holiness. God used different personalities throughout the Bible to do His will, but they were one in purpose. I find many Christians wanting to be someone they are not and miss God’s plan for them. He carefully knitted you together to fulfill a purpose. It is up to you to find God’s plan in your life. It is not simply going to happen. We must seek Him and submit to His will. We still have a choice to submit to Him, but He will plan and devise ways in His grace to keep us on the right track. Praying God’s will be done in our life and then submitting to it is the greatest act of faith I know. It not easy or for the faint of heart. Some look for an excuse to be lazy and live by a ‘whatever will be will be’ attitude. Let me know how that is working out for you.
