Devo Walking in faith Part 6
Hebrews 11:1 (NIV)
11 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)
31 but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
Hope is the foundation of faith. It is the beginning of faith. We hear the word and hope takes root. When we have hope our spirits brighten we begin to believe that what seemed impossible could now be possible. A man without hope is just the walking dead. He becomes depressed about the future, because he believes that he is powerless to have change from his bondage he is in. He feels a slave to circumstance. Hope brings us strength. It helps us to hold on, because we begin to see a better outcome. It takes the blinders off, the shackles off so we can walk, then run, and finally fly above the circumstance. Hope in the Lord has substance to it. We hear the word of God and then we hope, wait on Him, because hope gives way to faith in Him. We know that He did it in the past for others. He never changes so we begin to believe He can and will do it again. Finally we believe God will do it for us, but why? Relationship in a word. When you hope or wait on God you build a relationship. Faith in God brings us to relationship.
