Devo Walking in faith Part 7
Romans 8:24-25 (NIV)
24 For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? 25 But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.
Romans 4:16 (NIV)
16 Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham’s offspring—not only to those who are of the law but also to those who have the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all.
Romans 10:14-17 (NIV)
14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” 16 But not all the Israelites accepted the good news. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our message?” 17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.
Here is this hope thing again. It is in the hope of what we hear that we come into faith. Faith comes through hearing the message of Christ and what He did. The message comes through those who are sent. They are commissioned by God to preach the good news. How do they come into that commission? It comes through relationship with Him. It comes through walking with Him and experiencing His presence and work in their lives. We are saved by faith that comes through the message others bring us. So we wait in hope patiently for our salvation in all things.
