Devo Faith a gift of grace
Romans 12:3 (NIV)
3 For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.
1 Timothy 1:12-17 (NIV)
12 I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that he considered me trustworthy, appointing me to his service. 13 Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief. 14 The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.
15 Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. 16 But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life. 17 Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Here God shows His glory though Paul, even though he was the worst of sinners trusting in his own understanding of salvation and yet missing it entirely. He thought that he knew God and yet God knew him and gave him faith through grace that this sinner might be saved. What more could I say. Wow! Keep it in perspective. Faith comes through grace and that from God. Not just faith to be saved, but healed, and for whatever you need. It does not come from us. When Peter makes his confession of faith about Jesus being the Christ Jesus says this was given you from the Father. This has always given me patience when praying for people repeatedly. Just as healing was revealed to me in a moment after my wife was preaching to me. You can’t give it to people it comes from the Holy Spirit. One day it will be revealed to them and they will be set free.

Devo Come to Him
Exodus 20:18-21 (NIV)
18 When the people saw the thunder and lightning and heard the trumpet and saw the mountain in smoke, they trembled with fear. They stayed at a distance 19 and said to Moses, “Speak to us yourself and we will listen. But do not have God speak to us or we will die.”
20 Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. God has come to test you, so that the fear of God will be with you to keep you from sinning.”
21 The people remained at a distance, while Moses approached the thick darkness where God was.
John 3:19-20 (NIV)
19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed.
Not much as changed with man. He still does not want to come into the light. He refuses and becomes uncomfortable with the presence of God. Fear of his nakedness being exposed His soul laid open to God. There are so many reason, but they want to continue to live in sin and not be confronted with it. It is time to come into the light. There will be a day when all men’s sins will be exposed, you can’t avoid it. Come now and enjoy His forgiveness and presence, or wait and suffer His wrath. Seems like a no brainer but men are wicked and want to do as they please. Becky and I have discussed this and how people become uncomfortable in church when God’s glory shows up. Sad but true. I have wondered if people were to come into the room where I pray for people during the night if they could even stand under His presence. Would not trade it for the world.

Devo The Church Part 10
2 Chronicles 7:13-14 (NIV)
13 “When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, 14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
What must I do to be saved? Humble myself, pray, seek God, and repent then God will hear from heaven and heal us, save us from whatever we need saving from. He will restore us. He will remove the curse from us. Cleanse your temple with the blood of Jesus and He will hear you.

Devo The Church Part 9
Mark 11:15-18 (NIV)
15 On reaching Jerusalem, Jesus entered the temple courts and began driving out those who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves, 16 and would not allow anyone to carry merchandise through the temple courts. 17 And as he taught them, he said, “Is it not written: ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations’?’But you have made it ‘a den of robbers.’”
18 The chief priests and the teachers of the law heard this and began looking for a way to kill him, for they feared him, because the whole crowd was amazed at his teaching.
Here we are the week before Jesus is crucified. He goes in and cleanses the Temple and drives the money changers out. He says my house shall be a house of prayer, but for prayer to be heard from on high we must be cleansed, righteous and Holy. Jesus then dies on the cross and becomes sin and the curse for us, so we may be righteous as He is righteous. Then God will hear our prayers. Prayer must be mixed with the fire from His alter the cleanses us. (Lev. 10) Nadab and Abihu offered up incense with unauthorized fire, fire from their own camps to God. Incense represented prayer, but it had to be mixed with fire from the altar of God not man. No form of Godliness which is witchcraft to God, but His fire. Jesus cleansed the temple with His blood and fire. He came to baptize with fire and the Holy Ghost. Aaron took His censer with incense and fire from the altar and stood between the living and the dead and it stopped the curse. We are God’s house and Jesus must cleanse our temple and make us righteous, so our prayers will be heard and answered. Then we can stand between the living and the dead and bring many sons to glory.
