Devo Gods word part 5
2 Corinthians 3:6 (NIV) 6 He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant—not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
Hebrews 4:12 (NIV) 12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
Mark 16:20 (NIV) 20 Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.
Just knowing the letter of scripture brings death and condemnation, but knowing the Spirit brings life. God’s word is alive and He did not come to condemn the world, but to bring life and salvation. His word is alive and is confirmed with signs and wonders, evidence, substance. He is alive!!!

Devo Gods word part 4
1 Corinthians 2:9-16 (NIV)
9 However, as it is written:
“What no eye has seen,
what no ear has heard,
and what no human mind has conceived”--
the things God has prepared for those who love him--
10 these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit.
The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. 11 For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 12 What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us. 13 This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words. 14 The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit. 15 The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments, 16 for,
“Who has known the mind of the Lord
so as to instruct him?”
But we have the mind of Christ.
What’s our answer? We need to know the author. We need the mind of Christ. We need the same Spirit that carried along the prophets of old. We need Jesus. We need His Spirit. Jesus did not begin to His ministry until he was filled with the Spirit and he remained on Him. See John 1:32. Jesus is the living word, but He does nothing except what the Father tells Him. He is the living spoken word of God. He was flesh and is flesh to this day. He was human and was our supreme example. He had to be inspired by the Holy Spirit to understand Gods’ will and carry it out. You may say, “Wait right there pastor He is the word”. You are right, but you must know all the God head to understand the word. Many people know Jesus. Even Philip, though he walked with Jesus, didn’t realize Jesus and the Father were one. When Peter made His confession that Jesus was the Christ the son of the living God Jesus said it was revealed him from the Father. To truly know the God head you must have the Spirit of God dwelling in you and not like of old for a moment, but for all time. Jesus came to dwell in us not just walk with us. He is the light. The church was birthed on the day of Pentecost. I know of no denomination on earth that will not agree with that. The church is called the lamp stand with seven lights. We are here to light the way to Christ so others might come to the Father. Zechariah 4:2-3 tells us that that stand had two living trees next to it to pour into it oil so it would never go out. Wake up church and know Him and lead others to know Him.

2 Peter 1:20-21 (NIV)
20 Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. 21 For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
God’s written word was not just the writings of men, men were filled with His Spirit and wrote what His Spirit told them to write. Without the Spirit of God how can I, a mere mortal, understand what God is trying to tell me? It seems arrogant of man to even suggest he could know what God is saying. I cannot get into the human mind let alone the mind of Christ who is the Word. What is a person to do? Think about this.
