Devo God’s overwhelming Love and Grace Part 10
Genesis 5:21-24 (NIV)
21 When Enoch had lived 65 years, he became the father of Methuselah. 22 After he became the father of Methuselah, Enoch walked faithfully with God 300 years and had other sons and daughters. 23 Altogether, Enoch lived a total of 365 years. 24 Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away.
This is the first rapture. We see God take’s a man from the earth before he dies because God’s enjoys walking with him. Enoch walked with God, everyone else could have, but didn’t. I have children and grandchildren and some prefer me more than others. I love all with all my heart but some spend more time with me. Know God not just about God. Enoch’s son lived longer than any other man. What made the difference? Dad’s few short years on earth impacted him. When the rapture takes place God will take those who walk with Him not just know about Him. What’s in your heart?

Devo God’s overwhelming Love and Grace Part 9
Genesis 4:4-7 (NIV)
4 And Abel also brought an offering—fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The Lord looked with favor on Abel and his offering, 5 but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast.
6 Then the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? 7 If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.”
We see God’s grace in not accepting and blessing Cain. God tries to wake Cain up but showing him he needs to master the sin in his life and gives him a taste of what lies ahead on this destructive path. God knowing he is about to kill his brother warns him and yet Cain does not listen. Today man blames God for every disaster that befalls the earth not seeing it is man’s fault. They don’t understand that God is trying to wake up man and bring him back into His presence. God is a just and companionate God He wants us to live under His blessing not in the curse of sin. Think about it if He wanted to destroy us why does He wait to carry out judgement? He lets us live in our sin and under a curse in hopes of us repenting. I often pray and appeal to God’s companionate nature and ask Him to let someone dying to live in hopes that they may come to Him if given time. Time and time again I see him heal them and give them life. Grace such grace.

Genesis 3:22-23 Version (NIV)
22 And the Lord God said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.” 23 So the Lord God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken.
Once again we see God’s overwhelming love and grace in action. You see if we were allowed to stay and continue to live in the garden we would have never left our life of sin. A lesson many a parents could learn for their own children today. Living in the garden would have enabled us to live in our sin without suffering the consequences of our sin, in other words why would or should I change I got it good. I don’t have to grow up. God also blocked us from eating from the tree of life and living in our sin forever. He allowed us to experience death for ourselves so we might have hope for a new life. Unless a kernel of grain falls to the ground and dies it cannot live and produce fruit. Think about it, unless I die to sin I can’t come back to God and live.
