Devo My people parish for a lack of understanding
Ezekiel 22:30-31 (NIV)
30 “I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one. 31 So I will pour out my wrath on them and consume them with my fiery anger, bringing down on their own heads all they have done, declares the Sovereign Lord.”
Most the church is clueless about intercession. They talk about fighting Satan, but have no clue that the church has made God their enemy. The church lives in open sin and rebellion against God and His laws. They blame God for their condition in life and complain against Him. Yes I know that Jesus died for our sin, but expects us to live in the fullness of what He has done for us and leave our sin behind. Sin in our life is the cause of our condition. God is looking for a person to who would stand between Him and man to stop Him from destroying us. You might say well pastor he found that in Christ didn’t He?
Numbers 16:46-48(NIV)46 Then Moses said to Aaron, “Take your censer and put incense in it, along with burning coals from the altar, and hurry to the assembly to make atonement for them. Wrath has come out from the Lord; the plague has started.” 47 So Aaron did as Moses said, and ran into the midst of the assembly. The plague had already started among the people, but Aaron offered the incense and made atonement for them. 48 He stood between the living and the dead, and the plague stopped.
There still has to be one who will pray on behalf of the people. One who will preach the Word. One who will stand between the living and the dead. Jacob wrestled with God on behalf of his family not Satan. That censer represented prayer. Arron was making atonement for the assembly who were in rebellion against God’s will not fighting Satan. I am not discounting our fight against Satan, but sin, or in other words rebellion, is the problem we have with God.
