Devo Where are you living?
Psalm 91:9-13 (NIV)
9 If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,”
and you make the Most High your dwelling,
10 no harm will overtake you,
no disaster will come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;
12 they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
I like this version of this scripture, because we need to confess and let others know God is our refuge and we must make Him our dwelling. It’s more than lip service, it is an action. It is then no harm will befall us and He is our refuge. It is then you will overcome the serpent Satan. Keep in mind only that which God allows can come nigh you. Some would use this as an excuse to blame God for their circumstances, poverty, sickness, and so forth. God does not contradict Himself. For instance why would Christ suffer those stripes on His back to heal you then make you sick? If you are suffering these things, it is a good time to make sure you are dwelling in His presence. Christ was crucified for righteousness, not punishment or to teach a lesson. He had a choice to go to the cross as do we. It is a time to enjoy His presence, and all that goes with it.
