Devotional How much of the power of God worketh in you Part 5
John 15:4-5 New International Version (NIV)
4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
Romans 11:17-21 New International Version (NIV)
17 If some of the branches have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root, 18 do not consider yourself to be superior to those other branches. If you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you. 19 You will say then, “Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in.” 20 Granted. But they were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but tremble. 21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either.
Gardenias and Jesus. Gardenias are a flowering bush we have in our area but they are not native to here. They have a strong beautiful smell that fills the whole area around them and I wanted one for my yard. I went to the local nursery and as we were looking at them I noticed they all had a big knot at their base. I asked the nursery worker about the knot. He said they could not grow here because the root would get corrupted by the things in our soil and die, so they used a local bush that was incorruptible and grafted the gardenia bush in into it so we could have this sweet smelling flower bush. I wanted to jump and praise God for his words. We have been grafted into Christ, the incorruptible root, so we could once again take on the nature of God and release the aroma of God almighty of whom we were made in the image of. Jesus is the incorruptible root, sickness and disease cannot harm us. Wow! What a picture of what God has done for us. We partake of the nourishing sap of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 1:19-20 New International Version (NIV)
19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.
The things of God can be seen through nature. His laws are plain. There is substance to His word. What you see in the spiritual you see in the physical. One can know their spiritual life by looking at their physical life. Ouch that hurts, but it is true. How much chaos is in your physical life? When we have the nature of God it brings order and the presence of God. It brings forth life. Can people see God though the nature you have? Can they see His image?

Devotional How much of the power of God worketh in you Part 3
Genesis 1:24-28 (NIV)
24 And God said, “Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals, each according to its kind.” And it was so. 25 God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.
26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,[a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
27 So God created mankind in his own image,
in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.
28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”
WE keep coming back to this law. Kind produces after kind. We were made in God’s image to rule. We were given His constitution to rule as He ruled. It was sin that corrupted us and we have been dying to that image ever since until Christ. If you break the laws of physics destruction and chaos follow. Look at the atomic bomb. We broke God’s law and destruction and chaos followed. Christ came to fulfill the law in us so that we might be returned to our nature of God’s image again. Born of incorruptible seed. Our DNA was corrupted though sin. The Hebrew says Adam if you eat of the tree and break my laws dying you will dying. Dying spiritually, you will die physically. From generation to generation we become more spiritually corrupted so we become more physically corrupted and more disease is passed along. Through Jesus all things were made John 1:1-5. Hebrews 1:3 says all things are held together by His powerful word, but when that was corrupted chaos followed. Think about that.
