Galatians 6:9 New International Version (NIV)
9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
2 Corinthians 1:3-11 New International Version (NIV)
3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. 5 For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ. 6 If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. 7 And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.
8 We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters,[a] about the troubles we experienced in the province of Asia. We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired of life itself. 9 Indeed, we felt we had received the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. 10 He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us again. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, 11 as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many.
1 Corinthians 10:13 New International Version (NIV)
13 No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
It is easy to become overwhelmed in doing what we are called to do. Whether it is parenting, our jobs, or ministry. Paul, this great man of faith and the one who wrote most of the New Testament, said this was beyond our ability to endure so he at times despaired of life. Some have misquoted this scripture in first Corinthians, me included. God will not put more on you than can be tempted, but He does ask more of us than we can bear. It is then we rely on Him by faith and He gives us the victory. Don’t lose heart but seek the Lord and don’t just stand alone. Seek other prayer warriors to help you through and be there for others when they are weary. There is power in agreement. God will deliver you and give you the victory, but it does not mean you will not go through another battle. The next time you will know where to go to get your answers. Prayer is the key and the prayers of others pushes the door open for deliverance. We must assemble ourselves together and even more so as we see the day of the Lord approaching.
